Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

EAPEquine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) moves the traditional psychotherapy session from the office into the arena and utilizes horses to facilitate learning, healing and understanding. The sessions are designed to stimulate self-awareness through the observation of natural horse and herd behavior. Clients start recognizing their behaviors and patterns as they are reflected in the horses’ behaviors and patterns. This allows them to solve problems and draw conclusions in a less threatening way. Youth, individuals and families that come to the Ranch for Equine Therapy partner with a licensed Equine Specialist and counselor to build a greater understanding of self and each other.

If you want to refer a child or individual that may benefit from our equine therapy services, contact equine@quakerdale.org or call us at (641) 752-6446.

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)

EALEquine Assisted Learning (EAL) is similar to Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, but focuses more on educational and learning goals and does not include the presence of a Licensed Mental Health Clinician.

This interactive form of experiential learning can be used to improve team building, communication, leadership skills, family dynamics and is a wonderful event at corporate retreats,  family celebrations and reunions, marriage retreats, personal coaching and much  more. Got questions? Want to take a tour? Contact equine@quakerdale.org or call us at (641) 752-6446.
