Whiskers & Manes wants all of our patrons to have a safe and pleasurable experience in our cat lounge, and we also want all of our adoptable feline friends to enjoy the experience as well. Therefore, we must establish and enforce some rules to make this the best experience for everyone.
1. Cats will be cats and as a result they will behave as they behave. Following the rules will help to minimize some negative behaviors. We can’t be liable for things that may result from interacting with a cat because we can’t control for everything.
2. Pet the cats nicely — no pulling tails, ears or any part of the cat. If they are asleep, you can gently pet them but cats rest and sleep a lot so don’t try to wake a sleeping cat to engage in play.
3. Children ages 12 and up and adults may pick up the cats.
4. If you are interested in adopting a cat, let a staff person know and they can assist you.
5. When a cat is eating please let him or her eat — the ‘do not disturb’ sign is up!
6. Please talk in a quiet/normal tone of voice. Cats do best in a quieter, calm environment.
7. There are toys available in the cat lounge to engage the cats in play. If they run you can walk behind them to catch up.
8. The furniture in the cat lounge is for humans to sit on, the cats will do the climbing.
9. The cats are fed every day and we appreciate you not giving them any people food or drinks.
10. We ask that you not bring your own cat or pets from home.
11. All children 15 and younger must be accompanied and supervised at all times.
12. We recommend that you sanitize your hands before and after entering the cat lounge.
13. You may take photographs but refrain from using a flash.
14. In case of an emergency please notify a staff person immediately for assistance.
15. HAVE FUN!
