General Responsibilities of Ranch Intern

Assist and lead volunteers
Grooming and bathing
Horse turn-out
Assist with overseeing the exercise routines (groundwork, saddle work, riding)
Assist with riding lessons and children’s camps
Daily chores at the ranch include turn out, cleaning arenas, stalls, pens, and shelters, cleaning waters, and other random barn chores.
Unloading, stacking, and transporting hay
Fixing fences and repairing broken hardware
Dragging the dirt and leveling the ground in the pastures, arenas, and round pen.
Doctoring horses, assisting with vet visits/appointments
Assisting the farrier with horses
Maintaining and repairing tack
Joining staff members on various errands, horse-buying trips, and educational expositions
Assist with all other related assigned task

Must be 18 years of age
Must be professional and be willing to sign confidentiality agreements
Ability to work as a self starter
Resourcefulness, stress and time management skills, verbal communication and organizational skills
Flexibility with changes in task and priorities
Strong work ethic, moral standards, and a desire to learn and grow professionally
Must pass background checks
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on their feet for long periods of time
Must have a minimum of two years of equine work experience or experience combined with equine production classes
